The Lion, The Mouse and The Sleepy Bear | Bedtime Stories for Kids

 

Once upon a time, in a lush forest, there lived a small mouse and a huge bear in a neighboring cave. The big bear had been hibernating for months, still deeply asleep and snoring loudly. The little mouse, unable to sleep all winter due to the bear's noisy snoring, decided one day to wake the bear up and embrace the arrival of summer.

"Mr. Bear! Hey, Mr. Bear! Summer has come; you can wake up anytime now!" the mouse exclaimed. However, the bear remained undisturbed, continuing its peaceful slumber. Undeterred, the persistent little mouse returned to the bear, this time armed with a bugle. Vigorously blowing the bugle, the mouse hoped to stir the bear from its deep sleep, but to no avail.

As the mouse wandered sleeplessly through the forest, it encountered various animal friends. When questioned about its sadness, the mouse explained the dilemma – a winter of sleepless nights due to the bear's relentless snoring, and the bear's refusal to wake up for summer.

Suggesting a solution, one of the animal friends proposed seeking help from the lion, known for its powerful roars. Although initially hesitant, the mouse decided to approach the king of the forest for assistance. The lion was found sleeping in front of its cave, presenting a fearsome sight to the small mouse. Terrified but determined, the mouse woke the lion, requesting its help to wake up the bear.

"Dear fearsome lion, you have to wake up my neighbor, the big bear, who won't wake up from hibernation. One roar from you can solve everything," the mouse pleaded. However, the lion, considering the mouse too small and insignificant, dismissed the request arrogantly and walked away, leaving the mouse disheartened.

Meanwhile, in a secluded corner, the lion began to itch uncontrollably. Unwilling to be seen in such a vulnerable state, the lion hid behind a tree, scratching furiously. The little mouse, on its way home, heard the distressing sounds and traced them to the lion, who looked rather silly itching itself non-stop.

"Mr. Lion, what happened to you?" the mouse inquired, revealing genuine concern. The lion, admitting its discomfort and inability to stop itching, reluctantly allowed the mouse to help. The mouse bravely jumped onto the lion, disregarding its previous rude behavior.

Ignoring the lion's protests, the mouse crawled through the thick fur, removing fleas and providing relief to the itching lion. However, the lion's attempts to alleviate the itch by rubbing against a tree only worsened the situation. Seeking respite, the lion jumped into a nearby lake with the mouse still on its back, nearly causing the mouse to drown.

After successfully preventing a watery catastrophe, the mouse continued to help by guiding the lion to shake off the remaining water. The embarrassed lion, now free from fleas and itching, realized the mouse's kindness despite its earlier arrogance.

Feeling grateful, the lion apologized to the mouse and admitted its mistake. The mouse, accepting the apology, proposed taking the lion home. When they arrived at the mouse's home, they heard loud snoring emanating from the big bear's cave.

Entering the cave, they found the bear still sound asleep. The lion, now in a better mood, took a deep breath and roared powerfully into the bear's ears. The force of the roar shook the cave, finally waking the bear from its hibernation. The forest echoed with laughter as the bear, confused but awakened, realized that summer had arrived.

In the end, the little mouse, the mighty lion, and the once-sleepy bear shared a moment of joy. The forest animals laughed at the big silly bear's confusion, and the mouse felt content that the snoring ordeal was finally over. The unlikely trio formed an unexpected bond, showcasing the power of kindness and cooperation in the enchanting forest tale.
